SUMMIT CAMPS PERSONNEL

Fr Lawrence McClure, LC

Fr Lawrence is one of those priests who makes a real impression on you with both his integrity, his committment to his priestly calling along with a very approachable personality. He is young in priest years but has a wealth of experience in working with youth in the US, in Mexico and more.

His training for the priesthood is one of the best in the world. Over a period of 14 years he has spent two years in novitiate, studied the classics, learnt Latin, Greek, Spanish, Italian etc, obtained degrees in philosophy and theology as well as spending some years in the field practising his apostolate which saw him come to New Zealand on several occasions as a seminarian to help with adult retreats and youth camps. He loves coming to New Zealand, enjoys the natural beauty of the country and really connects with the Kiwi way.

Fr Lawrence will mostly be based at the boys camp but will offer daily Mass and reconciliation to the girls. The girls also enjoy an evening "Pow-wow with Padre" where they can ask him their burning questions!!

Rosemary Strekfuss

Rosemary is a consecrated member of the lay movement, Regnum Christi. This is similar to religious life with vows and daily prayer committments but Rosemary lives "in the world" so to speak. Rosemary has an overseeing role for the Regnum Christi movement in this region and her guidance in preparing for these camps is invaluable.

Her Regnum Christi apostolate sees her working in the Philipines at present but that doesn't stop her coming to Auckland in January for the 5th time!

Her main role, along with the other consecrated person, Lisa, is to give the girls spiritual support which comes in the form of one-one-one chats about anything the girls want to talk about, as well as leading the prayers, giving talks and being of assistance to the other leaders in the day-to-day running of the camps,

Lisa Small

Lisa is our second consecrated member of the lay movement Regnum Christi.

More details to follow as Lisa now lives overseas in an exciting change for her.

Iona Breinhorst - Mission Youth Track Coordinator

As a trained midwife, Iona has a lot of experience and a cool head to deal with anything that can pop up during camp. All three of her children have been through camps and are now looking at various leadership roles. Iona is fulll of enthusiasm for making sure these few days at camp count in the lives of all those attending.
